Retail for leisure simply means investing in properties just for going on a holiday etc. like in farmhouses, beach houses etc, which simply means they won’t be living at this place the whole time, in short this won’t be their permanent address, but a house which they only use for vacation purposes.
These real estate venues or houses are highly priced since they are in huge demand, as the location will be a one highly soughted after and like it goes without saying if the demand is more, the prices also get sky-rocketing.
Hence leisure real estate spots are mostly very highly priced and hence mostly the rich and the famous only usually can afford such a place. People are very busy in their routine mundane life these days and hence are very particular about their holidays these days and hence are ready to shell out a huge sum of money for a proper and enjoyable time, maybe if married with their spouses and children or if they’re bachelors or spinsters with their friends. Nowadays even the middle-class is trying to invest in leisure real estate locations, since not only the rich, but the middle-class lead very much stressful lives these days.
